What is a Payment Gateway?
A payment gateway is a secure network which connects your website to the credit card banking system. Communications, such as payment transaction authorizations, flow back and forth through the payment gateway from your website to the bank. Payment gateways are highly secure and are certified by the credit card organizations as having met strict security standards. 

What is a credit card merchant account?
A merchant account enables a business to accept credit card payments.  A merchant account is established with an acquiring bank or through Independent Sales Organizations (ISO) registered with acquiring banks. In Europe, merchant accounts are referred to as trading accounts.

Can I use my existing merchant account and process my credit cards through PayNetSecure.
Yes.

Can PayNet Secure Payment Gateway be used for US and international merchant accounts?
Yes. The payment gateway can be used with all US acquiring banks and many international acquiring banks.

 
Can I have more than one merchant account on a single gateway?
Yes, one of the advantages of the payment gateway is that a merchant can have more than one merchant account and “load balance” between accounts. Merchant accounts can be from US or international banks.

What type of reporting is included with the payment gateway?
An amazing number of reports are easily available to you and will help you manage your business.  Additionally, reports can be exported into your business financial systems, including Quickbooks.

 
How does the payment gateway interface with a website?
The payment gateway is integrated to your website through an Application Program Interface (API).   Any competent webmaster can do the integration quickly, generally within a few hours or less. 

Does the payment gateway include a virtual terminal?
Yes.  You can login to your secure banking terminal through any computer connected to the internet.

 
Can MOTO transactions be processed through the payment gateway?
Yes.  You can process mail order and telephone orders though the payment gateway by using the virtual terminal. 

Is recurring billing included with the payment gateway?
Yes, recurring billing is a standard feature of the payment gateway. With recurring billing you can automatically rebill your customers' credit card or checking account on a scheduled basis (i.e. weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.).

Does the payment gateway generate a email confirmation receipt to my customers after the order is placed?
Yes.  The email contains all details of the payment transaction.  You can customize the email confirmation in any way you wish.

Does the payment gateway include address verification (AVS)? 
Yes, address verification is a standard feature on the payment gateway.

Is a shopping cart included?
Yes, a basic shopping cart is included free.  In addition, the payment gateway is certified with a wide variety of shopping carts, with more being added all the time.  Shopping carts certified with the payment gateway include:   800Cart, CubeCart, DreamAccount, Ecommerce Templates, GlobeKey, LiteCommerce, Miva, NetIDNow, NetzCart, osCommerce, Ubercart, Virtumart, Volusion, VP-ASP, X-Cart, ZenCart.  If you have a specific cart you would like to use on the payment gateway, let us know and we can easily add it for you.

How long does it take for a transaction to take place?
Transactions through the payment gateway engine are processed in real time, and take approximately 1-2 seconds to return a response.

Can the payment accommodate gateway high volume transactions processing? 
Yes.  The payment gateway is designed especially for high-speed, high-volume transaction processing.
